Santa Teresa is a coastal town on the Nicoya Peninsula, known for its beautiful beaches, great surf spots, and vibrant yoga and wellness scene. It’s the perfect destination for those looking to relax, adventure, or both. The town has a unique bohemian vibe, with numerous cafés, boutique shops, and yoga retreats.

How to get there from San José: By car: First, take Route 27 toward Puntarenas, then cross on the ferry (1 hour) to Paquera. Continue by road for approximately 1 hour until you reach Santa Teresa. By plane: Take a flight from SJO Airport to the local Tambor Airport. From there, you can take a taxi or transport to Santa Teresa, which is about a 45-minute drive away.

SANTA TERESA

The quickest way is to fly to Liberia Airport (LIR), which is about a 30-40 minute drive from the peninsula. If you prefer to drive from San José, the journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, following Route 1 north, then Route 21 towards Liberia, and finally Route 253 to the peninsula.
